2013 : MARS Ratings After Round 25 (Finals Week 2)

MARS has been no fan of Port Adelaide's abilities all season, so it thought little of the Cats' victory over them in Friday night's Semi-Final. MARS is the only Rating System that I update during the Finals, the other Systems being more readily applied to the home-and-away season performances.

This weekend's results changed the ordering of five teams on the MARS Ratings Ladder, an unusually high level of activity for this time of the season.

With wins next weekend, albeit unlikely in either case, Carlton have a chance to finish the season Ranked 8th on MARS, and Port Adelaide have a chance to finish 10th.

The Roos also look set to finish the season Ranked no lower than 6th and might even retain their current 5th spot if Collingwood fail to progress. That, maybe as much as anything, highlights how odd it is that the Roos aren't playing in the Finals.

2013 : Round 24 (Finals Week 1) - Results

The Head-to-Head and Line Funds called it about right this week as three of the four home-team favourites failed to record expected victories. That was bad news for the only wagers we had, which were SuperMargin wagers, all eight of which lost.
